“We select pieces that still speak — across time, culture, and distance — and give them a setting that lets them be worn, felt, and remembered.”
Orpheus Gallery is pleased to host a private evening preview of Ancient Jewellery Reimagined, a collaborative presentation with luxury jewellery house Kapistree, dedicated to transforming significant ancient artefacts into powerful contemporary adornment.
The event marks the London release of Kapistree’s latest collection, each piece centred around an original antiquity — from Mesopotamian pendants and Viking gold to intricately carved Roman intaglio gemstones. These artefacts are not modified or restored but preserved in their original state, then elevated through expressive modern design. The result is jewellery that is deeply human, profoundly personal, and utterly unique.
Kapistree was founded by collector Jacob Sedgwick and jewellery designer Dr Natalie Williams, whose combined vision is to honour the artistic and emotional force of ancient objects while reimagining them for contemporary life. “We do not use antiquities simply because they are old,” explains Dr Williams. “We select pieces that still speak — across time, culture, and distance — and give them a setting that lets them be worn, felt, and remembered.”
